work out your TDEE. Start off with hitting that, plus extra on training days and hitting 1.5-2g of protein per pound of body weight.

Lots of people will vastly over completely it, but when you’re starting out and for the first 6 months this is a good basic rule of thumb, plus if you’re really serious find you’re self a good “properly qualified” sport nutritionist to consult in person. Not all this internet bollocks that so many “experts” who lack real academic understanding seem to market themselves on!

I would add you need to be training 3-4 times a week. Doing compound exercises, NOT isolation exercises or lots of cardio. If your routine and rest phases are programmed correctly many lifters don’t need cardio!
