My understanding is that your blood vessels dilate, causing low blood pressure which in turn makes your heart beat faster and more efficiently; you’re essentially getting mild cardio exercise.

If you put eucalyptus oil on before going in one. It really helps your skin, sinuses, headaches, relaxes your muscles, can lower your bp, speed up your heart rate, get rid of some water weight, etc.
Stretching in a sauna helps your muscles even more.
And I normally feel really relaxed after!

I haven’t done so in a while but I used to stretch in the sauna, especially after leg day. I read somewhere that it’s good for ppl who want to stop smoking.
