The “eat lots of small meals” advice was created as a solution to spiking blood sugar levels, which was caused by diets that were filled with processed foods (a response to the ill-advised low-fat advice).
If you think back 50 years, when people were healthier than they are now, they weren’t grazing all day. They’d eat breakfast, get to work, then generally take a mid-day break for “supper”. That was it.
And it’s not only possible, but very healthy, to do that today. The trick is to make sure that each meal is loaded with healthy foods that your body needs. That includes a clean source of protein, a healthy source of fat, and plenty of plant-based foods. A meal like that will keep you sustained for hours, and help your metabolic hormones work at their optimum. Just make sure you’re drinking plenty of water between meals.
Losing weight entails a combination of several different activities, couple with your ability to meet up your desired program’s routines and challenges, as well as your enthusiasm level in achieving your set goals. Just as beauty is subjective to the eyes of the beholder, there is no “one size fits all” method for losing weight.
Although you indicated you wanted to lose weight in 10 days without exercising, exercising really helps the bodies stays healthy as well as stay in shape. You also have to keep in mind here that, every effort counts during this process of weight loss. Alternatively, losing 20 pounds in 10 days without exercising will heavily focus on your ability in eliminating the non-essential intake of unneeded food materials while concentrating on a diet that furthers your course.
This sounds pretty simple but NO it is NOT. The first question I always ask my clients is – What are you willing to delete so we can begin therewith? Check especially on your snacks, while snacks might sound like a very small contributor to your weight, the excess calories are really not needed.
When you have a good overview of your daily calorie-intake, only then do you start to realize how significantly that reduces the need for extra exercises. You will be amazed by how much weight you lose by simply eating right – Right Quality, Right Quantity, Right On Time. After all, most of the exercise is often needed to force out the same excess calories we ingested without the body asking for.
1 pound = 3500 calories.
20 pounds = 70000 calories.
I would recommend that you calculate how many calories you eat in a day and if in 10 days you eat less than 70000 calories, then even if you completely stop eating, you will not lose that much weight. However, if you eat more than 70000, then there is a good chance that you will be able to lose 20 pounds in 10 days if you don’t eat for 10 days. Avoid water as well because that also adds weight to your body.
However, will you be able to keep those 20 pounds off forever with this diet without becoming extremely weak, and getting some fatal disease which your body can’t fight against?
Moreover, think why you don’t want to exercise? When you lose weight without exercise, then you lose muscle mass as well and your metabolism goes down. When your metabolism goes down, your ability to lose weight quickly also goes down. Hence, to be able to lose weight in a healthy way it is vital to exercise.
If you have decided that you definitely don’t want to exercise, then I would suggest that you try to lose weight through the means of switching to a healthy diet.
That is a terribly unhealthy and unrealistic health goal. The diet you should go on for optimum health and optimum weight is a Vegan Whole-foods Plant-based diet. You won’t have to restrict your caloric intake and your body will naturally take you to its ideal weight. A healthy weight loss will be roughly 1-2 lbs per week. However, if you weight anywhere close to 300lbs or more then you will likely lose weight faster in the beginning which is completely normal.
You can’t. That is a pretty unrealistic goal, and it’s unhealthy as well. I suppose if you were to go on a fast, drinking only water for ten days, you’d lose a certain amount of weight. But you’d also be pretty weak and it could be very dangerous. I don’t advise it.
If you are really trying to lose weight, and keep it off, may I suggest you abandon the crash-diet idea, and instead focus on tweaking your diet to include fewer calories from sugar and fat, and…here’s a radical idea…exercise a little as well? Sure, you can lose weight without exercise through diet only. But you’ll probably end up being what we in the fitness industry call “skinny-fat.” Your body will not be fit or toned, and you will probably have a high percentage of body fat. I don’t know whether you’re a man or a woman. But as we age, exercise, especially weight-bearing exercise, becomes particularly important to counteract the effects of aging, including lower metabolism, loss of muscle mass, and increased percentage of body fat. I recommend finding an activity you enjoy—any activity—dance, walking, cycling, etc. and doing that several times a week for at least 30 minutes. You do not have to join a gym, and you might find out that you actually enjoy exercise after all! It will benefit your life, and your health, in so many ways.
