What do you IK moderators suggest for influenza? (Confirmed that it is not keto flu). I’m on day 3 of fever, cough and misery. I’m having lots of water, broth and limited veggies, protein and fat. Not much appetite. But I’ve also had diluted juice with ice. What happens with ketosis when we get sick?

Please don’t sweat ketosis just keep up electrolytes by salting your broth and other fluids. I hope you get to feeling better soon! Ketosis is simple as your next full on IK meal.

I personally go for zinc lozenges, coffee mugs full of broth, almond flour sausage balls, toasted savory mug cakes made out of almond flour, whey pudding, chia pudding. Stuff like that. Ensure you are keeping your NAC and Vit C going, and look for a chance to manage electrolytes.

For cough, there’s a bunch of things you can do to temporarily ease the throat. Gargling with hot salt water is excellent. There’s a bunch of good teas – licorice tea, marshmallow root tea, mint tea, valerian, ginger, chamomile.

No miracle cure if that’s what you mean. I had it and took everything but the kitchen sink and would have tried that if I thought it would have helped. Gah!! It’s terrible this year. B usually isn’t this bad, but it was every bit of every b word I could think of.

I’m down to almost normal temp after 3 days of misery. But, in my book that’s a pretty speedy recovery time! The broth, tea, egg soup and supplements were a great help. In the past, before keto, I never thought of electrolyte balance or if I did, it was sugary Gatorade and then just eating whatever. I also notice that congestion is not as bad. Thanks, all! I’m almost back to the land of the living!
