Weight loss can be achieved by diet alone. The “success” of fad diets is dependent on severe calorie (and potentially food group) restriction. You will lose weight-water weight, lean muscle and perhaps a little fat.
You also can’t out train a bad diet. Working out hours a day but eating a nutrient poor diet will not give the results that most people desire.
For fat loss, which is what we really want, and to maintain that loss you need both. Exercise and a clean, nutritious diet that is sustainable will create healthy and sustainable weight loss.
Diet is more important, however supplementing it with exercise, more specifically with weight training will create faster and better results. The reason for this is gaining muscle, having muscle with give you a much better look even with higher amounts of fat, and not give you the skinny fat look if you are relatively skinny. Muscle also actually burns calories at rest; it may not be much but that supplementing with the calories burned during exercise makes a difference.
Diet and exercise are both important factors in weight loss; as if you keep eating anything yet exercising then you might not gain weight but won’t lose also and if you just diet and not exercise then again your body won’t get toned and flexible.
Both are equally important factors and diet doesn’t mean not eating rather it means eating right, avoiding junk and increased water intake will itself make a huge difference else talk to a dietitian/Nutritionist to make a plan or a diet chart for you according to your BMI.
There is no doubt about the fact that diet and exercise go hand in hand. Both of these are equally important for us to stay healthy and fit. However, one needs to strike the perfect balance between the diet and exercise. The rigorous amount of exercise without proper diet may cause injuries and damages. That is why it becomes very important to concentrate on your diet first before you select your exercising regime. Protein rich diet along with vital nutrients like vitamins and minerals should be present in your diet in order to maintain your health system. Working out will only burn out those excess calories and fat deposits so that you stay fit and healthy inside. Working out increases the energy levels since it can burn the fats to turn it into energy. Regular workouts also keep your heart in good condition. Thus both diet and exercise are equally important.
