Who all is running the Lamco 1500 lb timed protein feeders? How do you like them?? And does the rain sensor actually work as advertised? Looking to pick a few up was just curious on some field reviews. Thanks.

I run the 600 or 650’s I do t recall exact. Every feeder on our ranch are Lamco and they are awesome. Work as advertised.

I have the 800#. I had trouble trying to time the throw times and consumption. I’ve also found the rain sensor to be iffy. I probably threw out 200-250 lbs. of protein that caked and molded in the trough. I’m wishing I would have gone with the All Seasons timed protein feeder.

We run 6 of them. We love them and they pay for themselves. We Purina Antler Max and had maybe one clog issue. It was from bulk feed delivery side I’m sure.

We have 6 of the 1500s. All work great in having some kind of control over feeding. We are HF and has helped dramatically in cost reduction in protein. I purchased the Rainbird sensors and they work great in stopping feed from going to waste during rainy periods.

I bought 16. Saved $50,000 in feed costs the first year. The animals are still heavy and healthy, but have to browse a bit more. One recent Kudu weighed 822 lbs. The timers are set for 7 & 8 am, 4 & 5 pm so animal visibility has increased. The rain sensors work, but we disabled them. If it rains at 2-3 pm and clears up, no feed is dispensed. Our animals eat the wet feed whenever it happens to get wet.
