Yo what’s up quick question I was just reading about heart rate and all that I’m 35.They say keep your heart rate at 85% of your maximum heart rate so you take your age and subtract that from 220 I did that I should be around 157 for the 85% but I’m a big dude and usually my heart rate during hiit training and even running goes up to about 167 to 172 is that ok or should I take it down a notch?

I’m in the same boat as you, some day i can push to 167 and some days I’m tapped out at 155. Listen to your body. Those numbers aren’t rules, just guidelines.

Everyone is dofferent. I train a lady, she regularly hits 212 and she tells me she’s only doing a 6 on the RPE scale.
Her cardiologist says not to worry.
